Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 21, 2026
SocialGrab is built around a simple idea: nothing about you should leave your device. This policy explains what that looks like in practice.
Information we collect
None. We don't ask you to sign in, we don't create an account for you, and we don't collect your name, email, location, or any identifier. Everything the app does runs on your device.
Photo library permission
When you download a video, the app asks for permission to write to your photo library. This is the only reason the permission is requested, and the app only writes the video you just downloaded into the "SocialGrab" album. The app never reads or uploads your other photos or videos.
Anonymous crash reports
If crash reporting is enabled in a given build, SocialGrab sends anonymous crash diagnostics to Sentry to help us fix bugs. These reports include the stack trace and device type (e.g. iPhone 15, iOS 18) but never your personal data, the URLs you downloaded, or any content from your device. You can verify this by checking the open-source code.
No tracking, no analytics
We don't use any ad SDKs, tracking pixels, or analytics services. There are no third-party trackers embedded in the app.
Children's privacy
SocialGrab doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. Because we don't collect personal data at all, the app is safe to use at any age, subject to Instagram's own age requirements.
Changes to this policy
If we ever update this policy — for example, to describe a new optional feature — we'll bump the "Last updated" date above and note what changed. Material changes will be surfaced inside the app.
